Discussion:
Implementation Approach
We agreed that we organize the implementation around seven major “tracks” with one person responsible for coordinating the events and the volunteers in each track. These tracks and people responsible are:
Celebrations (events currently under Celebrations Committee) – Nancy Pimental
Culture – Lincoln Cultural Council? (to be contacted)
Education / Schools – Carla Ricci (preliminary conversations)
Families, old and new - Long-time resident? and a member of the LFA (TBD)
Historical -- Joan Silverman and Kerry Glass
Re-enactment – (individuals from Brainstorming session to be contacted)
Special Events -- Tucker Smith (with Stacy Osur, to be contacted)
Stewardship – Sarah Mattes
Land –LLCT (to be contacted)
Sarah Andrysiak will coordinate the master calendar, and Joan Silverman will coordinate public relations. Sara Mattes will coordinate the fundraising activities. We still hope to identify a chairperson, but if we cannot, we will work as a loose coalition. Sarah Andrysiak will take and post the meeting notes and post the meetings.
People responsible for leading the various tracks will contact individuals from the Brainstorming Session who expressed interest in participating on the 250th committee.
Additional Event Ideas
A “Jefferson v Adams” debate in February or March (there are two guys that do this); will require funding
A timeline of Lincoln exhibit at the Library
