Vacancy on Town Water Board
Vacancy on Town Water Board

The Board of Selectmen and Water Board seek candidates to fill a vacancy on the Town’s Water Board.  The appointment will be for a one year term, until the March 2008 Town Election, at which time the appointee may run for election to serve out the remainder of the term.

The Water Board is an elected body of the Town, with full responsibility and authority for the operation and management of the public water supply system.  The Water Department derives its funds (i.e., annual budget of $933,000) exclusively from user fees which are held and accounted for separate from the Town’s general fund.  The Water Department is managed and supervised on a day-to-day basis by its Superintendent who is supported by four additional staff members.  The staff operates and maintains the filtration plant and the distribution system; administers the billing process; ensures compliance with state public health regulations; and responds to the needs and concerns of the water users.

To apply, please submit a letter of interest to Debra Parkhurst, Administrative Assistant to the Board of Selectmen, Town Offices, 16 Lincoln Road, Lincoln, MA 01773, or by e-mail at ParkhurstD@lincolntown.org.  Eligibility is limited to registered voters of the town.  Applicants are encouraged to contact the Water Board Chair, Andy Hall at 781-608-5999 or through the Water Department at 781-259-8997 to learn more about the duties and responsibilities of the Water Board.  Applications will be accepted until April 27, 2007.
