BOARD OF ASSESSORS
October 2, 2003
CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 1:00PM
ROLL CALL: Members present were Paul Marsh, Ellen Meadors and Edward Morgan
OTHERS PRESENT: Julie Miller, Principal Assessor
MINUTES: No Minutes were read.
SIGNATURES: Monthly lists and a schedule of bills were signed.
CORRESPONDENCE: A memo requesting final reports from all boards for the State of the Town report was read. Mr. Morgan agreed to draft the report and circulate it to the other members.
OLD BUSINESS: 6.1) Mrs. Miller reported that Lincoln received final certification from the Department of Revenue and that the tax files were being reconciled with the tax collector through our vendor.
6.2 Mr. Marsh reported that he met with John Casswell to discuss Counsel on Aging request in their State of the Town report that an outside contractor review our assessing methods. Mr. Marsh reported that Mr. Caswell would present our current approach to the executive committee of Counsel on Aging.
Mr. Marsh reported that Bob Lennington had raised the question that there appeared to be more Lincoln sales in the newspaper than in our database. Mr. Morgan suggested we give Mr. Lennington our file of 2002 sales.
6.3 Mrs. Meadors noted that she would check on the status of the Hanscom Housing management lease bid.
NEW BUSINESS: 7.1) Mr. Morgan reported that he had met with the Finance Committee on October 2, 2003 to explore impacts of a split tax rate. He will work with the Finance Committee periodically doing various analyses to examine various tax issues.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 3:10PM.
