Assessor's Minutes - May 20, 2004
Town of Lincoln
BOARD OF ASSESSORS
May 20, 2004

CALL TO ORDER:   The meeting was called to order at  3:30PM

ROLL CALL:              Members present were Ellen Meadors, Edward Morgan, and John Robinson

OTHERS PRESENT:         Julie Miller, Principal Assessor

MINUTES:         Minutes for March 18, 2004 were read and accepted as written.

SIGNATURES:  A schedule of bills and monthly lists were signed.

CORRESPONDENCE:  A letter from the Cowles, owner of 156 Trapelo Road stated that the town mapping of their common driveway causes bicyclists to believe they are parking on a town Road.  The USGS map also depicts this way in a manner that causes the Cowles concern.  The letter was read and deed research discussed which indicates that the “driveway” is actually two parcels of land that have not been assessed since the 1930s.  The Board recommended that we do more deed research to discover the ownership of the parcels.

OLD BUSINESS:

6.1)     Several ATB cases were discussed and processed.

NEW BUSINESS:

7.1)    The office’s participation in the senior work-off volunteer program was discussed.  We currently have the benefit on one terrific volunteer who is doing the triennial property record card printing project.

7.2)    Ellen Meadors outlined the GIS database progress and several matters relating to modeling efforts

7.3)    Mr. Morgan suggested the Board develop a new analysis of commercial properties for a discussion on splitting the tax rate.

ADJOURNMENT:

The meeting adjourned at 5:05PM.

Respectfully submitted,
