______________________________________________________________________

Committee Introductions

Mr. Higgins welcomed the Committee members, and, on behalf of the Board of Selectmen, thanked the members for their service.  The members introduced themselves and indicated which board or committee, if any, they were affiliated with.

Committee Orientation

Mr. Higgins reviewed the CPC bylaw, the roles and responsibilities of the Committee, the financing mechanisms, the criteria governing the use of CPA funds, and procedural issues.  Written materials, including copies of the statute, bylaw, DOR pamphlets and samples of documents from other communities were distributed.

Committee Meeting Schedule

The Committee agreed that the first order of business was to meet as quickly as possible with proponents of projects that are considered time-sensitive.  The Committee agreed to meet with the Housing Task Force and Pierce House at its next meeting (February 11th).

Public Hearing

Mr. Higgins reviewed the requirement for a public hearing prior to Town Meeting. The Committee agreed to schedule the public hearing for March 13th, at 7:00 p.m., to dovetail with the Finance Committee’s hearing at 8:00 p.m. that same evening.

The Committee voted to adjourn the meeting at approximately 10:00 p.m.
