CPC Minutes - 121305 - December 13, 2005
TO:                     Lincoln CPC
FROM:           John L. Koenig
RE:                     Minutes from Dec 13, 2005 meeting
Attending
John Koenig, Susie Collins, John Valpey, Peter von Mertens, and Bryce Wolf
The Committee discussed generally the status of prior funded projects.
The Pierce House Roof is believed to be complete.  John K to follow up.
Sunnyside Lane - no qualifying bids were received.  The perception is that the project is too small.  Lexington avoided public bidding with a transaction involving private ownership of the project from its commencement, with eventual transfer to the town, something that would not work here.  The project will go out to bid again in the Spring.
Historic Inventory - John K will ask Colin Smith to follow up on this.
Conservation Fund - still has $63,500 of CPA funds in it.
The committee discussed the following current proposals
Recreation Department proposal to build a new play ground - the proposal includes language suggesting that the Dept. budget for overruns.  Susie C will go back for a firmer quote, and also to look into other sources of funding.
Rob Loud of the Disabilities Commission has sent a letter requesting the committee’s consideration of funding a project to make some of Lincoln’s trails wheelchair accessible.  Trails under consideration are the Harrington Trail off of 117 and the trail at Lindentree Farm.  While this proposal fits within the spirit of the CPA, it may not be fundable; it is a recreation proposal, and as the trails are existing recreation trails, it may not be possible to upgrade them using CPA funds.
