Anita Scheipers, Assistant Town Administrator, appeared to discuss the request for funding of a peer review of the Town Building Needs Assessment (2008-8). The main focus of the peer review would be on cost and sequencing of work to be performed, and an assessment of how projects will impact future uses of the buildings. Peer review would focus on Town Hall and Bemis Hall.
The Committee then discussed placing a time limit on all funding recommendations. The Committee voted unanimously to recommend a three-year time limit on all funding recommendations to Town Meeting in March 2007, other than 2008-4 (Booth Property), which would have a one-year time limit, given that the option obtained by the Conservation Commission is for only one year. Funds not used for a project within the time limit would no longer be available for the project.
The Committee voted unanimously to clarify the funding recommendation under request 2008-4 (Booth Property), to conform to the original request, with $250,000 being recommended towards the purchase of the property, and $25,000 being recommended for maintenance of conservation properties generally.
The Committee voted unanimously to approve the Town Administrator’s funding request (2008-8) for recommendation to Town Meeting in March 2007.
The committee approved the minutes from its February 12, 2007 meeting.
