Public Discussion: American Eagle / Hanscom Air Force Base: For housing redevelopment.
Clint Miller, American Eagle project manager presented a brief overview of their intentions to redevelop housing on Hanscom Air Force Base. David Smith, land planner and Gary Shaw, wetland scientist, presented details pertaining to Phase 1 redevelopment – an area located near the entrance, on the west side of a perennial stream and wetland system. While American Eagle was not in for their formal Notice of Intent hearing, they wanted to share their goals for the project in an effort to involve the Conservation Commission in the process. Goals for the project include: net reduction of impacts within the 100-foot buffer zone; zero impacts to the wetlands, creation of neighborhoods with green spaces and boundaries, reusing infrastructure, and instilling environmental and educational experiences throughout the
property. The Commission was in support of the project goals and looked forward to working with American Eagle and Hanscom Air Force Base to find areas within the redeveloped neighborhood that would enhance wetland quality and function, and remediate existing stormwater flooding.

Implementation of Dog Regulations
On track for implementing on July 5th. Trash barrels have arrived and the Commission is waiting for signs. Angela Kearney will be updating the brochure and signs will be ready for posting on July 5th.
