WETLANDS FILINGS

Notice of Intent. Mary Hubbard. 123 Trapelo Road (68-21-0). For a replacement septic system in the Buffer Zone Resource Area.

Bill Murphy of PureGround, Inc. represented Mary Hubbard with a Notice of Intent to replace a failed septic system. The system is sized for four bedrooms, the same number as the existing house. A tank and pump chamber will be located approximately 55' from the wetland, under existing lawn, and will replace a tank and cesspool that are approximately 50' from the wetland. A new leachfield will be located approximately 85’ from the Wetland Resource Area. Haybales and silt fencing will be placed between the working area and the wetlands. The Commission agreed that this plan was the most feasible and best option for the site as the entire front of the property is ledge. The Commission will work with the installer to find suitable plants for restoring disturbed slopes. The Commission voted 6-0 to close the hearing and issue an Order of Conditions.

DISCUSSION ITEMS

Agricultural Licensing Program
The Agricultural Subcommittee has made the decisions on field allocations for the current licensing cycle and licenses will be sent out this month. Blue Heron Organic Farm is experiencing a significant amount of dog activity and would like help from the Commission to control them. The Agricultural Subcommittee will suggest an over-arching policy for dogs in and around all the agricultural fields.

Annual Update
Several Commissioners have terms that are up for renewal. They will be before the Board of Selectmen to provide an update of the Commission’s activities and to renew their terms. Jim Meadors and Peter Von Mertens extended an offer to have other Commissioners take over as chair if they are interested.
