Swine Flu Update from Maureen Richichi
With the swine flu added to seasonal flu concerns this year, the Lincoln Board of Health is taking steps to assist town residents. On the Town website’s initial page (www.lincolntown.org), you’ll find a link to helpful information at the Concord Public Health Department, the Massachusetts Department of Health, and the national Centers for Disease Control (CDC).  You can find a booklet entitled “Flu: What You Can Do” from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health at the Lincoln fire and police stations, the Library amd the Town Hall; this helpful booklet is also available on line through the above Town website link.

On Monday, Nov. 2, Dr. Arnold Weinberg is speaking about infectious diseases including the flu at Bemis Hall. Dr. Weinberg is a member of the Board of Health and head of Infectious Disease at Harvard Medical School. Please park by 11:45 around the First Parish Church. Bring a brown bag lunch. Beverages and dessert are provided. All are welcome.

Swine flu vaccines have been ordered for the Lincoln Public School population but there is no guarantee that the order will be filled given uncertainty about the vaccine's production schedule. Vaccinating students at a school-located clinic is still under consideration.
