September 7, 2006 Meeting

        The chair called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm in the Board of Selectman's office in the Lincoln town offices.

        The committee discussed the forthcoming State of the Town/Special Town Meeting, scheduled for 11-4-06. Although no formal vote was taken, the committee was supportive of the Deaconess Proposal and the Lincoln Crossing/Mall upgrade. The proposals will be discussed again prior to the meeting. The chair will seek further information from the town about the likely impact of the Lincoln Crossing/Mall upgrade on property tax receipts. The chair will draft the committee statement for the State of the Town report.

        The committee discussed the fall schedule. Meeting dates were set for 9-28, 10-12, 11-2, possibly 11-16, 11-30, and 12-14. The Joint Budget Workshop was tentatively scheduled for 12-6.        

        The committee discussed the Association of Town Finance Committees Meeting, scheduled for October 28 in Westford. Several members are likely to attend.

        The committee reviewed liaison assignments. Mary Hartman will be the representative to the Affordable Housing Trust. Representatives to the water board, the library, and Minuteman will be set at the 9-28 meeting.

        The committee discussed liaison reports. Further information will be obtained about the current situation at the Lincoln Schools and Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School.

        The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 pm.
