November 30, 2006 Meeting

Present: P. Giese, S. Haber, M. Hartman (vice-chair), J. Robinson, R. Steinbrook (chair)

Not present: J. Koenig, P. Phillipps

        The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm in the Board of Selectman's office at Lincoln Town Hall.

        The minutes of the meeting of 11-2-06 were approved.

        The agenda for the budget workshop, scheduled for 12-6-06, was discussed. The committee heard liaison reports and reviewed preliminary information about the various budget proposals. The chair will send a copy of the agenda to the budgeting agencies.

        Paul Giese reported on the comprehensive long-term planning process for the town. The request of the Lincoln Library for representation on the committee was discussed. The Finance Committee was supportive of this request, given the library's various roles and the fact that it is a major budgeting agency. There was discussion of a potential warrant article for provide funds for a consultant. Paul Giese will obtain further information about the organization of the planning process and how such funds would be used.

        Mary Hartman reported on the activities of the Affordable Housing Trust and on a consulting project related to the Pierce House.

        The meeting was adjourned at 9:35 pm.
