7:30 PM INTRODUCTION
The Chair introduced the meeting and welcomed participants.
7:35 FY11 Budget Preparation -- The Gap and Strategies for Coping
Selectmen and Finance Committee members of the four towns outlined their budget preparation process and broad fiscal policies.
8:35 PM Appointments
Sara Mattes, lead and Elise Woodward, alternate, were appointed as HATS representatives to the ~ Electronic Systems and Software Science and Technology Board
8:45 PM House Bill 3252-An act relative to non-aviation development at Hanscom Field
The Chair was authorized, subject to Concord’s approval, to send a letter of comment to the Joint Committee on Transportation, indicating that the HATS communities support local control of development within their areas.
8:55 PM HFAC REPORT
Total Operations continue to be fewer than prior year and enplanements are below last year’s running rates. The Bedford Conservation Commission is continuing public hearings on tree cutting in the Jordan Forest. The Chair complimented the Bedford Conservation Commission on their determination and thorough approach
9:00 PM MINUTES
The Selectmen voted unanimously to approve the minutes of July 23th as amended.
9:05 PM NEW BUSINESS:
TIP—Selectman Mattes reported Crosby’s Corner is on the FY10 TIP, a tribute to years of planning effort by local boards and staff.
Air Force recognition—J.C. Corcoran reported Hanscom Air Force Base is the first base in the country to receive the OSHA VVP Safety Award.
