Minutes of the July 2, 2002 meeting approved.
Robert Jennings & Patricia McKee, 36 Lincoln Road
Mr. Ames presented drawings showing the proposed changes to the front entry, new bay window/dormer and window replacements. Mr. Jennings said that the evergreen trees in front make the house almost invisible. The owners will be going before the Zoning Board of Appeals for approval to add the bay window. After a brief discussion, a motion was made and seconded to approve the plans as submitted. The motion was approved 6-0.
Other Business:
The members continued an informal discussion regarding the identification of houses, which they would like added to the Historic District. Stars were given to the more significant properties, which had been given a #1 in priority. Jack MacLean will take the initial draft list and put it on the computer in proper order for the next meeting. Chris Skelly of the Mass. Historical Commission told Colin Smith that only 1 or 2 sentences on each property would be needed and a history of the property or the architectural design was not necessary. An explanation as to why the house is significant should be sufficient. The house may not be significant but the area as a whole may be significant as a historical neighborhood. Colin Smith told the members about the meeting with the Selectmen on July
15. He said that they were very interested in this project but that there was no money available to assist them. Codman Trust is still a possibility for funds. The discussion will continue at the Sept. 10 meeting.
Mary Spindler asked the members for support in changing the name of Sandy Pond Road to Flint s Pond Road in next 3 or so years.
