Demolition Delay Review:

Michael and Elizabeth Danziger, 231 Old Concord Road:
Mr. Grassi informed the Board that the entire structure would be torn down but not for about 10 months because the Danzigers will be living in the house while the new house is being built.  The original part of the house was relocated from Ayer and dates back to 1700 and is encapsulated within various additions.  The ceilings in the house are low on both floors.  An abutter is looking into relocating the house but because of its length, this will be difficult to do and would probably require removing many trees.  The owners reviewed adding on to the house but found it too difficult to organize a plan.  They are going before the Planning Board under the Big House Bylaw.  After a brief discussion, the LHC voted unanimously to approve the demolition application.

Other Business:
Mary Spindler asked about the status of the survey of houses in Town, which Jack MacLean had identified as houses that could be added to the Historic District.  Colin Smith stated that the next step would be to contact the owners and get their approval for addition into the Historic District, fill out forms for each house and then Town Meeting approval would need to be obtained.  It was felt that Bisty Donaldson should be contacted to see how the interviews for the current historical houses were done.  It was decided that both Jack MacLean and Bisty Donaldson would be contacted and asked to attend the next meeting.

Eleanor Fitzgerald updated the Board on 30 Old Sudbury Road, which was sold and will not be torn down.  The new owner will add onto the older house and will turn the newer structure into a workshop and perhaps eventually use part of the cabana as an accessory apartment on a smaller scale with Board of Appeal approval.  They may also be asking for a curb cut to access a shed they would like to install.

Mary Spindler brought up the fact that the terms for all members have expired and the Board of Selectmen has not renewed them.  Elaine Carroll said that she would look into this and report back to the members

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 a.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Elaine Carroll
