NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, August 2, 2005, 7:30 p.m., Town Offices
The minutes from the June 7 meeting were approved with corrections, which will be made.
Paul Marsh, 61 Bedford Road:
The members were asked to vote on the Preservation Restriction Agreement, which was set up by Paul Marsh on his property. The agreement was sent to the members to read over. The members felt that better photographs were needed of the parts of the house, which Paul Marsh is asking to preserve and an extension of the site plan showing more of the property. After a brief discussion, a motion was made to approve in principle the Paul Marsh Preservation Restriction Agreement with the stipulations that additional photographs be taken by the Commission and a site visit be made by the members of the LHC who would like to see the property. The motion was seconded and unanimously approved by the 4 LHC members, Colin Smith, Mary Spindler, Stefania Jha and Eleanor Fitzgerald. Colin Smith will
contact Mr. Marsh to see if June 25 would be a good time for a site visit.
Certificate of Non-Applicability:
37 Bedford Road Repair of a stonewall along perimeter of property:
Ed and Bean Nardi sent in an application to repair existing stonewalls bordering their property along the driveway and the access road as well as along Bedford Road for approximately 250 linear feet of wall. After a brief discussion, Colin Smith said that he would prepare a Certificate of Non-Applicability to rebuild the existing stonewall around the perimeter of the property as described in the application, with the stipulation that it be rebuilt to match what is already existing.
Certificates of Appropriateness:
23 Bedford Road alteration (demolish and reconstruct dwelling):
The members reviewed the decision written regarding the vote taken on June 7, 2005 for the demolition of the former Heck House and the reconstruction of a new residence at 23 Bedford Road. There were some minor revisions, which were suggested by Jack MacLean and Mary Spindler. After a brief discussion, a motion was made and seconded to accept the decision with minor changes, which will be made. The motion was approved by a vote of 5 to 1 with Mary Spindler voting in the negative. The members will sign the decision after the revisions have been made.
