October 8, 2002
Present: T. Bornstein, R. Caplan, R. Morey, B-J Scheff, G. Taylor,
Minutes: July 23, 2002 Approved
September 24 Approved
Old Business:
30 Sunnyside Lane: We are still waiting to hear from the State. Caplan has been in touch with F. Vavelli of the Dept. of Highways. She will also locate the original lease on that property.
Scheff will attend the DHCD Grants Hearing on October 15th. She will try to meet with Paul McPartland of DHCD to gather information about funding sources for affordable housing and assistance around 30 Sunnyside.
Tim Higgins is meeting with a possible housing consultant who would staff the HOME Consortium for Lincoln and Bedford. He suggested that the same person might work with the taskforce developing the Housing Plan.
Clarified that there are two new committees with similar initials. Bornstein will represent the Housing Commission on the Community Preservation Committee. This will be a permanent committee to develop guidelines for the use of CPA funds and present suggestions to Town Meeting. The other is the short term taskforce to develop a Comprehensive Housing Plan. All members of the Housing Commission will take an active role in this process.
Scheff suggested that we ask a member of the RLF housing subcommittee to attend Housing Commission meetings. Emily Kass, Roger Bergin and Ken Bassett are on that sub-committee.
Caplan will contact Wayland about their lottery procedures.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30AM
Next meetings is October 22 and November 12, 2002 7:30 A.M.
Task: Read the 1998 Housing Plan. It will serve as the base of the Comprehensive Plan.
