Old Business:
· 75 Tower Rd. presented by E. Midgley. Midgley informed the Commission on the basic minimum repairs required to bring the house up to code:
§ Kitchen, mudroom, porch and twenty-two windows have lead paint
§ House has 60 amp electrical service which must be upgraded to 100 amps.
Suggested scope of work:
§ De-lead windows by replacing them
§ De-lead kitchen by removing cabinets and wainscoting. Replace sink, refrigerator, stove, install new cabinets, counter tops and flooring;
§ Bathroom - install tub enclosure.
§ Refinish floors, paint all rooms, replace upstairs carpet
§ Cover rear entry concrete steps with wood deck and steps.
§ Encase leaded areas on porch with aluminum siding or new shingle
In order to set priorities the Commission needs cost estimates on the following: cabinets, painting, electrical wiring, replacing windows, bathroom tub enclosure, porch, and lead paint. Ballpark estimates due on August 14th.
Scheff asked about funding sources, ie. Lincoln Foundation,Codman Trust, MassHousing (state funding for deleading) and CambridgeTrust Community Action Fund.
· Scheff spoke about the Lottery drawing and the family that won. The family currently rents in Sudbury. The mother works in the Sudbury Schools and the father for a Sudbury business. There are two school age children and one infant. They have been told that the house will not be ready until late autumn.
· Caplan reported that Minuteman Technical Vocational School has agreed to do the landscaping at 75 Tower Rd. this fall.
· Scheff reported that we are placing Lincoln on the school’s lists for building a house on Sunnyside Lane in 2004.
· Taylor will contact Diana Smith, realtor,to ask her to explore the availability of Battle Rd Farm property for the buy down.
· Taylor will edit the "Charge to Accessory Apartment Taskforce" presented by Scheff.
