LINCOLN HOUSING COMMISSION
MINUTES
June 10, 2003
Present:  R. Caplan, B-J. Scheff, G. Taylor, Mary Troy
Guests:  A. Kalisky, T. Morgan
 Minutes:  June 24, 2003 approved
Old Business:
Ø       Scheff announced that our response to the third year of Executive Order 418 has been accepted by DHCD.  We are certified for another year.  This will help us in applying for both federal and state funds.
Ø       The State has scheduled a Hearing on 30 Sunnyside Lane at the town Offices for July 14th at 7:30 p.m.  Scheff will contact Mark Pierson.
Ø       Route 117 gas station—Meadowbrook development has withdrawn it application for State approval and initial funding for the development of housing on this non-conforming lot.
Ø       There is no news or updates on the Aunt Sadie’s parcel or on the former BIIC property.
Ø       The Commission vacancies have still not been listed in the Lincoln Journal.
 New Business:
Ø       Scheff has been approached by Christine Brown regarding obtaining funding to build an accessory apartment for her physically handicapped daughter.  Taylor suggested she research the Mainstream Housing grants.
Ø       Accessory apartments: Taskforce will be appointed to develop a plan which can be approved under the Local Initiative Program of DHCD as part of Lincoln’s affordable housing stock.  The commitment would have to be for 15 years rather than the current 5.  We need to work with the Planning Board and have potential landlords apply to the Housing Commission.
Ø       Another taskforce will be appointed to research ways of responding to the needs of Lincoln’s elderly residents.
Ø       Mary Troy volunteered to replace Tim Bornstein on the CPA Committee.

Next meeting on June 24, 2003
