Housing Commission Minutes - May 26, 2009
Lincoln Housing Commission
Meeting Minutes of May 26, 2009 at 4:30 pm
Lincoln Town Hall, Donaldson Room

Present: Renel Fredriksen, Connie Lewis, and Phyllis Mutschler
Also present:  Mary Sheldon, Earl Midgley and Anita Scheipers

Actions and Discussion:

  • Earl Midgley presented a bill for payment:  Lincoln Tree and Landscaping for plowing - $106.19. Mutschler moved and Lewis seconded to approve the bill for payment.  Motion was unanimously approved.
  • Mowing of Units – Mutschler moved and Lewis seconded to authorize Fredriksen and Midgley to seek competitive quotes for the annual mowing of the lawns at affordable units, and to establish a contract with the vendor of their choosing. Motion was unanimously approved.
  • Minutes:  Lewis moved and Mutschler seconded to approve the minutes of the May 12th meeting. Motion was unanimously approved.
  • Liaison Reports:
  • HOBE – Mutschler reported that individual members of HOBE had reviewed the draft CLRPC report to provide feedback to the CLRPC Steering Committee.  No meetings of the committee have been held.
  • Small Housing Task Force – Lewis reported that it was agreed that the group should be called a “study group” rather than “task force”, as the intent was to have one or two meetings to discuss the concept of using existing small and or historic homes for affordable housing.  No meeting has been held as yet.
  • May 14th Forum –  Members reviewed the feedback form the forum held on May 14th, and all agreed the meeting went well and the speakers did a very good job of providing clear information about the various housing initiatives underway.
  • Anti-40B Mailing – Lewis reported having received a mailing which was clearly an anti-40B initiative. The information represented in the mailing appeared to be exaggerated and suspect, causing Lewis to research the various websites referred to in the mailing.  She discovered that the Town of Westford has also had problems with their residents receiving such inflammatory mailings.  She agreed to research the source of the mailing and to bring the document to the next meeting for discussion.
  • Meeting adjourned at approximately   5:10 pm.
