Members Present:  Rob Loud, Jim Spindler, Adeline Naiman, Kitty Stein, Debby Dorsey and Anita Scheipers

Meeting convened at 11:00 am.

Discussion and Action Items:

1)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Membership: Adeline Naiman asked if there has been any response from the Lincoln Journal article encouraging people to consider joining the Commission.  Anita Scheipers stated she has received no calls or emails from interested people.  Kitty Stein announced she does not wish to be reappointed to the Commission this year, and that the March meeting will be her last meeting.
2)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Minutes:   The members present approved the minutes of the November 2007 meeting, and also the minutes of  January 9, 2008 meeting with minor edits.
3)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Kevin Goodwin of the Metrowest Consumer Council (MWCC) was present to explain that the Council is a non-profit organization overseen by the umbrella state agency of the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission.  The group is tasked with improving the way the state provides vocational rehabilitation services, as well as advocacy for support and funding for resources to the disabled community within the 22 member towns – of which Lincoln is one.  Mr. Goodwin stated the Council is seeking new members as the group has lost several active volunteers in the past months. Specific projects currently underway include developing a local transportation guide for the disabled, and establishment of an emergency preparedness plan targeted to issues associated with the disabled.   He clarified that a person does not need to be a disabled consumer to be a part of the council. There are many current projects for which the MWCC could use assistance. He also stated he has met with several other towns over the past weeks and has received little response from those groups regarding joining his agency. The next meeting of the MWCC is Wed., Feb. 27th from 1pm to 3pm at the Natick office located at 251 Central Street Natick.  Mr. Goodwin suggested interested people should contact the  center director, Janice Ngau,  who may be reached at 508-651-7531.  Anita Scheipers stated she was interested in attending this meeting on behalf of the Lincoln Commission on Disabilities.
4)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Discussion regarding improving the walkway access to the voting location at the Smith school resulted in Anita Scheipers agreeing to convene a meeting of the following concerned parties:~ School Administration, Town Clerk, Building Inspector, Debby Dorsey for the LCD, and Anita Scheipers.
5)~~~~~~~~ Next Meeting:   The next meeting was set for Monday March 3, 2008 at 11am.
6)~~~~~~~~~Meeting adjourned:   12:15 pm.
