Minutes of the Personnel Board

Members Present: Beth Ries, Graham Walker and Walter Jabs
Also present: Asst. Town Administrator Anita Scheipers
1) Introductions were made to new board member Walter Jabs.
2) The minutes of the March 18, 2009 meeting were approved with one minor edit.
3) The draft updates to the Employee Handbook were reviewed. Anita will create additional edits as discussed and submit to the Board for further review. Additional edits will likely be forthcoming from the Water Department. Anita will forward these edits to the Board as soon as received. Walter stated he would like to review the Performance Evaluation section of the employee handbook and bring some suggested edits to a future meeting. All agreed this was a positive idea. Anita agreed to forward the current Performance Evaluation Form to all members.
4) Anita updated the Board as to the ongoing efforts of the Water Commissioners regarding reorganization of their department. The Board agreed they would be available to meet with the Water Department in June to approve any proposed job descriptions they will be propose. Anita will contact the Board and the Water Department to coordinate that meeting.
5) Anita explained that additional job descriptions form other departments are being reviewed and will periodically be brought before the Board for approval of any necessary edits.
6) The next meeting date has not yet been scheduled.
7) Meeting adjourned at approximately 10:05 am.
