RECREATION COMMITTEE MINUTES
December 18, 2006
Present: Noah Eckhouse, Ingrid Neri, Jane Tatlock, Susie Collins (minutes), Cathy Long, Ted Julian, Stacey Mulroy and Dan Pereira
Minutes: Minutes from 11/20/06 were reviewed and accepted with corrections.
Committee Calendar: Dan moved “Operating Budget Approval” from September’s responsibilities to October’s and our “Review of policies & procedures” into September from August.
Programming Update: Dan created a chart that details July 4th responsibilities for the year. Nancy Pimental’s notes have been invaluable and Nancy will be here July 4th to help if needed. Noah added that the selectman are worried about a drop off of volunteerism in town and are asking us as a committee to take over celebrations’ committee, with an increase in our budget and staff to compensate. Meanwhile there is a 16 year old in town who would like to set up a community service component for town projects at the high-school. All agreed this was a good idea that should be encouraged!
Finances: Dan distributed Revolving Fund and General Fund charts but the discussion was tabled.
Facilities: Tots’ playground has opened and looks great. We will have a formal opening ceremony in the spring.
