RECREATION COMMITTEE MINUTES
January 22, 2007
Present: Noah Eckhouse, Ingrid Neri, Jane Tatlock, Susie Collins, Cathy Long (minutes),
Ted Julian and Dan Pereria
Minutes: Minutes from 12/18/2007 were reviewed and accepted.
Programming Update:
Sunday River - The Sunday River Ski Trip weekend ski trip was a successful despite the cold weather and the lack of snow this season.
Winter Programs – Winter offerings are up and running and the Wednesday afternoon lesson/ski program at Nashoba Valley is on track now that the weather is cooperating.
Town-wide Celebrations - The Recreation Committee has assumed the responsibilities for events formerly run by the Celebrations Committee:
1) Patriots Day Celebration
2) Memorial Day Celebration
3) July 4th – Road Race, Parade, Fireworks
4) Summer Concert Series
Although, in the Lincoln Tradition, the events will still be manned and chaired by volunteers but a part-time staff person will be hired to assist and oversee the coordination of the celebrations.
Winter Carnival - Final details for Winter Carnival (1/27-1/28) were discussed.
Summer Camp/Pool - Staff planning for Summer camp/Codman Pool is underway.
Finances:
Revolving Fund/General Fund performances were reviewed. The benefits of On-line registrations for programs, camp and pool was discussed briefly and will be evaluated at a future meeting.
Facilities:
Improvements have been made on Pod A – painting and the removal of old shelving. Carpeting may be replaced next.
Tot Lot Celebration plans will be discussed at a future meeting.
